Are you a UI Web Designer looking for further autonomy with a focus purely on design? If you are then read on and see if what we have on offer is for you.

Become Recruitment is working with a medium sized independent agency based in the Brisbane CBD. This agency classify themselves as a "Web/Marketing" agency, however the Web portion of this is really prevalent with a string of new web builds happening regularly.

They're on the hunt for a new UI Web Designer to hit the ground running and start immediately.

The Role

You'll be working closely with a team of Developers (by closely i mean sitting right next to them) and a Graphic/Digital Designer that is responsible for print collateral, Digital assets etc. which means you will be given time to focus solely on UI.

Your work will vary across clients - FMCG, Corporate and NFP's to name a few. The Design strategy will be handled by the Client Services team who have a background in Web Design themselves, this ensures that all work being passed through is qualified and is achievable, before getting into your hands.

Once the project has been scoped it will be your responsibility for all things UI within the build. Some of the clients you work with will not have style guides so it's important that you have an ability to be flexible with your approach and design thinking.

The Company

This company has a track record of great staff retention. They encourage growth from within their own company, whether that's vertical or lateral.

Being able to work independently and without supervision is a must however. Whilst they have larger team that other boutique agencies, it's still very agile and they need free thinkers.

Your "web" team are super close so it's important that you can gel with other creatives and professionals. You don't need to be an extrovert, but a wall flower won't work either.

Whilst the team don't mind a Friday lunch and an after work beer they're also respectful of a work/life balance so you won't be living and breathing work either.

The Person
  • 2-3 years experience as a UI Designer
  • Agency experience
  • The ability to take constructive criticism
  • Experience using Sketch App
  • Creative flair
  • A team player
  • An autonomous worker also

*Please note that this is not a remote working opportunity.

If you think that this could be your next role don't hesitate to apply, or get in contact with me directly to find out more.
